Bus Tips

The WaveArrive at your stop at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled. TCTD drivers set their timepieces by the District Office clock: Call 503-815-8283 to check the time. Make sure you have the correct fare or ticket/pass ready to show the driver before you board. When you see your bus, signal the driver to stop for you. Check the destination sign before you board. Either let the driver know when you would like to get off, or pull the stop chime cord nearest your seat to be let off at the next stop (not available on all buses).

Bus Safety/Rider Conduct

  • No smoking, eating or drinking is allowed in TCTD vehicles.
  • Please wear your seat belt.
  • Each rider is allowed up to three carry-on bags with a maximum of 50 pounds each. You are responsible for handling your own luggage.

The driver may ask passengers to move in order to allow senior or disabled riders to use the designated seats and/or wheelchair securement devices,

If you need assistance during your trip, a personal care attendant may travel with you free of charge. All attendants must be registered with the TCTD Office.

Park-n-Ride

Riders are encouraged to leave their car at a park-n-ride location and ride the bus. Park-n-Rides are available at the Manzanita bus stop, the South end of Fred Meyer and 3600 - 3rd Street in Tillamook, and the Kiwanda Senior Center in Pacific City.

HOW TO RIDE THE BUS

Route Schedules

  • A brochure with schedules and maps for each route is available at many locations throughout the county, from any bus or van driver, and at our District Office at 3600 Third Street in Tillamook.
  • A schedule can be mailed to you by calling 503-815-8263.

    Bus Stop

    Bus Stops/Bus Flagging

Most routes have bus stop signs with rider information and passenger shelters at our more heavily used bus stops. You may also flag a bus along any of our fixed routes. To flag a bus, choose a safe location where the bus driver can easily see you, safely pull off the road, and where you are not at risk from other vehicles. We recommend calling 503-815-8283, so that your driver can be notified where you will be waiting, but calling ahead is not required.

    Transfers (In-County)

If the first bus you get on does not go to your destination, you may have to transfer to another bus. On the first bus you ride, please ask your driver for a transfer when you pay your fare. Transfers are valid only for the ride and date states and do not include Dial-a-Ride.

    Dial-a-Ride

This county-wide service provides riders with a door-to-door shared ride service available to everyone, with priority seating given to seniors and those with disabilities. Our vans can provide connecting service to our fixed route bus service or local rides to appointments, shopping, etc. For more information, or to make a ride reservation, call 503-815-8283 (503-815-TCTD), Monday- Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or use our On-line Reservation Form.
